Rubbish Removal in Preston
Junk and rubbish removal for Preston homes, units and shops
Darebin’s free hard waste collection is handy for a couple of items. You get one booked collection of up to two cubic metres a year, it has to go out on the nature strip, and the wait can be up to four weeks. Soil, rocks, building rubble and anything over 30kg aren’t collected.
A skip bin gets around the volume limit, but if it sits on the road you’ll need a council permit, and you’ll still be doing all the lifting yourself.
Red Rabbit clears the lot in one visit. You tell us what needs to go, and your rubbish is lifted, loaded and sorted for reuse and recycling where suitable, with your space swept clean at the end.

Denny is an absolutely star!!! I often arrange rubbish removal for my clients and the positive feedback has always been overwhelming. Not only does Denny do a great job at a reasonable price, he is super pleasant to work with and always turns up when he says he will. I cannot recommend him highly enough.Posted on Google![]()

We used Red Rabbit three times in the last six months to help clear out our old family house with its 50 years of “all sorts of stuff”. The initial drawcard and point of difference was their website promise to recycle so much of the goods (to places like St Vinnies or their local womens shelter). Meeting Denny and then watching he and Mikey expertly pack the big truck like Tetris ninjas proved they are absolutely genuine in this claim. More to the point, Denny is a down-to-earth legend of a bloke. He is old school honest as the day is long, a great communicator, and his small business is one that you just want to support. The pricing was extremely fair on all occasions, and it worked out significantly cheaper than hiring a skip (which we had done a couple times before going down this path). If we ever need a big removal project agoin, he will always be our absolute first port of call. These google ratings do not lie. Do yourself a favour!Posted on Google![]()

Denny and Mikey were excellent help and I would highly recommend. Great with communication and co-ordinating a collection, turned up bang on time, smashed through getting the work done and cost was exactly in line with estimate. Made sure everything went smoothly and would not hesitate to recomend to other or use them again. Great job, thank you.Posted on Google![]()

FAQs
Preston rubbish removal questions
How much does rubbish removal cost in Preston?
The price depends on how much there is, how easy it is to reach and what’s in the load. The quickest way to get a price is to send us a photo and your suburb, and we’ll come back to you with an obligation-free quote.
Should I use Darebin's free hard waste collection instead?
It’s a good option for a couple of items if you can wait. Council collects up to two cubic metres once a year from your nature strip, bookings can take up to four weeks, and it won’t take soil, rocks, building rubble or anything over 30kg. For anything bigger, heavier or more urgent, your whole load can go in one visit.
Do I need a skip bin permit?
Not with us, because nothing is left on the road. If you hire a skip that has to sit on the road or nature strip, you’ll generally need a permit from Darebin Council.
Can you clear units and apartments?
Yes. Your rubbish is loaded straight from your unit, stairwell or storage cage, and your building’s shared areas are kept clear.
Do you clear shops and offices on High Street?
Yes. Your old fixtures, office furniture, stock and cardboard can be cleared around your trading hours.
What happens to furniture that's still usable?
Where suitable, your usable furniture and household goods are donated, and metals, e-waste and green waste go to recycling. Landfill is the last resort.
Do I need to be home?
It helps to have someone there at the start to show us what’s going. After that, the team can get on with the job.
Can you pick up today?
Same-day collection depends on availability, so it’s best to call Denny as early as you can. We work Monday to Friday from 7am to 6:30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
