Green Waste Removal Melbourne
Get your garden back after the big clean-up
We load branches, prunings and garden waste straight from your backyard and take it to be recycled, so there’s no trailer to hire and no tip run to make.
Green Waste Removal
Garden waste collected from your backyard, not the kerb
Most garden jobs end the same way, with a pile of branches, cuttings and leaves that’s far too big for your green bin. Waiting for the next council collection can take weeks, and a trailer means a hire fee, a day of loading and a trip to the tip.
Red Rabbit takes care of the whole pile in one visit. We load it from wherever it sits in your yard, keep it separate from general rubbish and make sure all of it is recycled.

When You Need Us
The garden jobs that leave the biggest piles
After a big prune or hedge trim
Your hedges, shrubs and fruit trees look great again, and the cuttings are gone the same week.
Your spring garden clean-up
Spring is when your garden beds get weeded, your lawn gets its first proper cut and your overgrown corners finally get cleared.
Leftovers from tree work
If an arborist or tree lopper has cut back your trees and left the branches behind, we load them and take them away.
A landscaping project or garden makeover
Old plants, turf and garden bed waste are cleared so your new garden can go in.
Getting a property ready for sale or lease
Your front and back yards are cleared of garden waste before photos, open homes or a final inspection.
When your green bin can't keep up
Your garden produces more than one bin a fortnight can hold, and the overflow is building up down the side of the house.
A green bin handles the weekly lawn clippings, but a full garden clean-up needs a truck.

Denny is an absolutely star!!! I often arrange rubbish removal for my clients and the positive feedback has always been overwhelming. Not only does Denny do a great job at a reasonable price, he is super pleasant to work with and always turns up when he says he will. I cannot recommend him highly enough.Posted on Google![]()

We used Red Rabbit three times in the last six months to help clear out our old family house with its 50 years of “all sorts of stuff”. The initial drawcard and point of difference was their website promise to recycle so much of the goods (to places like St Vinnies or their local womens shelter). Meeting Denny and then watching he and Mikey expertly pack the big truck like Tetris ninjas proved they are absolutely genuine in this claim. More to the point, Denny is a down-to-earth legend of a bloke. He is old school honest as the day is long, a great communicator, and his small business is one that you just want to support. The pricing was extremely fair on all occasions, and it worked out significantly cheaper than hiring a skip (which we had done a couple times before going down this path). If we ever need a big removal project agoin, he will always be our absolute first port of call. These google ratings do not lie. Do yourself a favour!Posted on Google![]()

Denny and Mikey were excellent help and I would highly recommend. Great with communication and co-ordinating a collection, turned up bang on time, smashed through getting the work done and cost was exactly in line with estimate. Made sure everything went smoothly and would not hesitate to recomend to other or use them again. Great job, thank you.Posted on Google![]()

What We Take
The green waste we collect from Melbourne gardens
Branches, stumps and tree prunings
Branches, limbs, palm fronds and tree stumps from pruning or tree work, loaded straight from your yard. Large tree trunks are the one thing we don't take.
Hedge and shrub trimmings
Cuttings from your hedges, shrubs, roses and fruit trees.
Leaves and lawn clippings
Raked leaves and grass clippings that have overflowed your green bin or piled up after a big mow.
Weeds and garden beds
Weeds and old plants pulled out of your garden beds, cleared in one go.
Bark, turf, soil and rocks
Old bark, turf lifted during a landscaping job, and the soil and rocks dug out of your garden beds.
Garden and household rubbish together
Old outdoor furniture, pots and general rubbish can go in the same visit, and we keep it separate from your green waste.
Where Your Green Waste Goes
Kept separate so it can be recycled
Green waste can only be recycled properly when it isn’t mixed with general rubbish. That’s why we keep your garden waste apart from general rubbish, even when we’re taking other rubbish from your property in the same visit.
All of the green waste we collect is recycled, so it goes back into the soil instead of landfill.

FAQs
Green waste removal questions we get asked
How much does green waste removal cost in Melbourne?
The price depends on how much green waste there is, how easy it is to reach and what’s in the pile. The quickest way to get a price is to send us a photo and your suburb, and we’ll come back to you with an obligation-free quote.
What counts as green waste?
Branches, tree prunings, palm fronds, tree stumps, hedge and shrub trimmings, leaves, grass clippings, weeds, bark and turf are all green waste. If it grew in your garden, it’s usually green waste.
Is there any green waste you don't take?
Large tree trunks are the one thing we don’t take. Tree stumps, palm fronds, soil and rocks are all fine, and they can go in the same visit as the rest of your garden waste.
Do I need to bag it or put it on the kerb?
No. You can bag it, bundle it or leave it in a loose pile, and you don’t need to move it to the kerb, because we load from wherever it sits on your property.
Can you take green waste and household rubbish in the same visit?
Yes. We can clear your garden waste and general household rubbish in one trip, and we keep the green waste separate so it can be recycled.
Do you take branches left behind after tree work?
Yes. If an arborist or tree lopper has cut back your trees and left the branches, we’ll load them and take them away. Large tree trunks are the exception.
Where does my green waste go?
All of the green waste we collect is recycled rather than sent to landfill, which is why we keep it separate from general rubbish.
Can you pick up my green waste today?
Same-day collection depends on availability, so it’s best to call Denny as early as you can. We work Monday to Friday from 7am to 6:30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
